New Bedford, Fall River Snubbed in Family Vacation Site's Rankings –

Family Destinations Guide, an online website that recommends family and kid-friendly vacation destinations throughout the country, lists what it considers to be the "11 best family vacations in Massachusetts" – and we ain't on it.
New Bedford, Fall River, and Taunton were all snubbed by Family Destinations Guide, which recommends family vacations in all of the states, including Rhode Island, Connecticut, and the rest of the New England states.
Don't feel too bad, though, as Brockton, Cambridge, Framingham, Lynn, Lowell, and Worcester are not family or kid-friendly vacation destinations, according to the site.
Everyone is a critic.
New Bedford's working waterfront, the Buttonwood Park Zoo, Fall River's Battleship Cove, and Worcester's Woo Sox are apparently unworthy of attention. Too bad Profile Rock collapsed. That might have caught the attention of the Family Destinations Guide.
So which areas are included on the list of the 11 best family vacations in Massachusetts? The usual suspects.
Boston, Cape Cod, Plymouth, Martha's Vineyard, Nantucket, Springfield, and the Berkshires, are among them. I'm sure you could have guessed it.
Family Destinations Guide offers reasons why you should visit these Massachusetts locations. You can click on their page and see for yourself.
While all of the vacation spots recommended by Family Destination Guide are good suggestions, for my money I think Taunton's annual Christmas celebration, Fall River's Iwo Jima monument, and New Bedford's Whaling Museum are worthy of a look-see – even if you squeeze them in between visits to the tony beaches and overrated attractions in some of those other locations.
