The Kansas City Zoo says the Force is with the newest addition to Helzberg Penguin Plaza!
The zoo announced the hatching and name of a new, 10-day-old penguin check.
Meet Obi!
Obi, a gentoo penguin, pipped on Nov. 30 and hatched on Dec. 2, according to zoo officials.
The chick is now living in a nest near the visitor’s viewing area at Helzberg Penguin Plaza along with parents Ackbar and Mario.
“The gentoo species is native to the Antarctic peninsula and can be identified by the white band across their heads that is most prominent around the eyes,” officials said in the post.
