Daisy E. Long, 88, of Hummelstown, entered into eternal rest on Monday, Dec. 5, 2022 in the Hershey Medical Center.
Daisy was born on Oct. 13, 1934, in Liberty Township and was the daughter of the late Bruce L. Sr. and Mildred (Clark) Long.
Daisy was a member of Evangelical United Methodist Church, Middletown. She was a Veteran of the U.S. Air Force (Retired), serving in the Nursing Corp as a 2nd Lt. Daisy was a retired registered nurse with a master’s degree in nursing and a former Bible study group leader in her Church. Daisy enjoyed sewing, quilting and embroidering. She volunteered with the Red Cross and with Meals on Wheels. Daisy loved traveling, building puzzles and also bird watching.
Her greatest joy was playing with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Daisy is survived by her son, Dominic J. Long; her daughters, Sherril A. Miller, Darlene K. Lamaster and Carolyn S. Long; her brother, Bruce L. Long Jr.; her sisters, Mildred June Gulliver, Rose Bates, Elma Wretlind and Eleanor Tanner; her seven grandchildren; and her 14 great-grandchildren.
Daisy was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, William Long.
A celebration of her life will be held at a later date at the convenience of the family.
The Matinchek Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc. at 260 E. Main St., Middletown, has been entrusted with handling the arrangements.
