Nadine Reed, 84, of Elizabethtown, stepped into glory on Thursday evening, November 3, 2022. She passed in her home surrounded by her family. Nadine was born on March 10, 1938 to Ozzy and Ruby Mae Stigdon Sharp. She married Robert G. “Bob” Reed on August 27, 1960.
Nadine was a graduate of Vernon High School and was homecoming queen. She was previously employed at Cummins Engine Company. Her hobbies included flower gardening, reading, sewing, bird watching and caring for her animals. She loved going to the beach and spending time with her grandchildren, who were the light of her life. She often spent time caring for those who couldn’t care for themselves. Nadine loved the Lord with all her heart and has been a devoted Christian and active member of Brown’s Corner Chapel her entire life, praying over and caring for her family all her days. She was VBS director, Sunday school teacher and organist.
A celebration of life service for Nadine was held on Monday, November 7, 2022 at Brown’s Corner Chapel with Pastor John Weintraut officiating. Nadine will be laid to rest beside her husband Bob at Bear Creek Cemetery near Westport.
Memorial contributions may be made to Brown’s Corner Chapel or to Mercy Rescue through the funeral home.
Survivors include her daughter, Shannon (Ted) McFall of Scipio; grandchildren, Elizabeth (Jacob) Doty of Elizabethtown; Abigail (Derek) Helton and Noah McFall both of Scipio; and two great granddaughters, Natalie Doty, Madison Doty and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Bob, on April 5, 2010 and six siblings.
Arrangements were entrusted to Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home, Columbus, IN.
