As a young girl, she moved with her family to Parsons, where she grew up and attended schools. On April 29, 1960, Judy married Jimmie A. Johnson in Parsons. The couple lived in New Mexico, Texas and Oklahoma before settling back in Parsons near Big Hill Lake. She worked for several years at the Kansas Army Ammunition Plant as an environmental analyst. After her husband passed away in 2010, Judy moved to Collinsville, Oklahoma, to be near her family.
She attended the First Baptist Church in Collinsville. Her greatest joy came from spending time with her family. She loved being outdoors, spending time with her three dogs, bird watching and caring for plants and flowers. She also enjoyed drawing.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jimmie Johnson, on Aug. 3, 2010; and a sister, Sue Miller.
The service will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home in Parsons. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Following cremation, burial will take place at Oakwood Cemetery.
