Proverbs 3:5 Joseph "Joe" Richard, 82, a resident of Jackson, LA, died on Monday, August 8, 2022. He was retired, after service in the US Navy and a career at East Louisiana State Hospital. There will be a visitation at Charlet Funeral Home, Inc. in Zachary, LA on Thursday, August 11, 2022, from 9:00 am until funeral services at 12:00 Noon, conducted by Bro. Clark Fooshee. Burial will be at Dawson Cemetery. He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Ann Dawson Richard; two daughters: Wendy Peters and husband Larry of Jackson, LA; Lisa Boyette-Turner and partner Jerry Williams Jr. of Zachary; one son, Scooter Boyette and wife Trudy of Zachary; three sisters: Jean Dixon, Rose Teal, Vivian Hughes and husband Mike; sister-in-law: Mary Alice Richard-Ford and husband Bill; ten grandchildren: Tiffany Lanoue, Katie Rowe, Emily Turner, Gracie Turner, Remi Williams, Jade William, Bryce' Averton (Martin), Carly Boyette, Darcy Giannobile, Peyton Giannobile, ; seven great-grandchildren: Rylie Leggett, Taylor Posey, Mason Rowe, Hazel Giannobile, Marty Averton, Walter Averton, and Hudson Averton. He is also survived by brother-in-law Ray C. Dawson and sister-in-law Floye F. Dawson and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Gabriel Richard; mother, Odette Comeaux Richard; sisters Ida Mae Alford, Margie Richard, Lorena McCrory (Buddy), Irene Donovan; brothers John Richard (Hazel), Gabriel Richard, Jr.; brothers-in-law Bill Teal, Tommy Dixon; niece Dana Wright; nephews Harold Donovan, Charlie Dixon; fathers-in-law Felix R. Dawson and Virgil A. Kling; mother-in-law Rosemary Kling; mother-in-law Ethelea McNeese; and father-in-law Gloster "Mac" McNeese. Pallbearers will be Scooter Boyette, Larry Peters, Jerry Williams, Keith Hawes, Rickie Rowe, and Mason Rowe. Honorary pallbearers will be: Ray C. Dawson, Roy Kent, Bobby Taylor, Scotty Dawson, Terrance Wright, Henry Nettles, and Homer Ellis. Joe loved the Lord, his country, his family, country music, and food. His hobbies included eating, wood-working, cutting grass for friends, photography, astronomy, bird-watching, and keeping his family in line. He was loved dearly by all. In lieu of flowers, friends may make memorial donations to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or the Second Baptist Church of Jackson.
