Sybil Ann Scott, age 86, a long-time resident of Manomet, Massachusetts, was recently, splitting her time between Pawtucket, Rhode Island and Davenport, Florida as a “Snow Bird”. Ann died Wednesday, July 27, 2022, at the home of her daughter, Jennifer and her spouse R. Eric Brattlof in Davenport, Florida, surrounded by her family.
Ann was the loving wife of the late Thomas Scott; daughter of the late Alvah J. and Sybil A. (Tillotson) Bellrose. She was the sister of the late John and Urban Bellrose. She will be sadly missed by her daughters Rhetta A. Scott of Pawtucket, RI, and Jennifer S. Brattlof and her husband R. Eric Brattlof of Davenport, Florida and her son, Thomas Scott Jr. of Pawtucket, RI. She also leaves behind six grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and a great-great granddaughter.
Ann was born in Whitman on February 18, 1936, and raised in Hanson, Massachusetts. She worked as a nurse at the Heritage Hill Nursing Home and Jordan Hospital in Plymouth, and in later years she worked as a private caregiver. Ann was an active member of the 2nd Church of Plymouth Congregation in Manomet, for over 50 years. She was a former Sunday School Teacher, officer(s) of the church and was President of the Ladies Benevolent Society for many years. Ann enjoyed knitting, sewing, music, bird watching, traveling, and spending time with her children and grandchildren.
A period of visitation will take place on Friday, August 5, 2022, 9:30 am to 11:00 am at the Cartmell-Davis Life Celebration Funeral Home, 619 State Road, Plymouth (Manomet). A funeral service will begin at 11:00 am at the funeral home. The burial will immediately follow the service at Fern Hill Cemetery, High Street, Hanson.
