Jenkins, 83, long-time resident of Amherst, MA and Glastonbury, CT, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Saturday, March 12, 2022. She was born on October 23, 1938 in Hackensack, NJ to Arthur W. and Dorothy M. (Mueller) Koelbel.
Diane was a graduate of Wellesley High School in 1956, Stephens College in 1958 and the University of Michigan, where she received her Bachelor of Music degree in 1960. At the University of Michigan she was a member of the Sigma Alpha Iota honorary music sorority.

She was a longtime member of P.E.O. and enjoyed leading Girl Scout and 4-H troops and participating in art and music appreciation clubs.
Diane was the warm, compassionate matriarch of the family, who found her voice using her incredible gifts of perfect pitch and playing and teaching piano to her children and grandchildren.
She was active throughout her life in the music of her church, beginning with North Congregational Church (Amherst, MA), First Church of Christ (Wethersfield, CT) and First Congregational Church (Wallingford, CT), where she sang in the church choirs and played in the handbell choir.
Diane was an avid tennis player and loved bird watching and walking on the beaches of Cape Cod and the Jersey Shore.
Diane was the heart of our extended family and will be dearly missed. Her last moments were spent hearing the voices of her family while listening to piano music performed and recorded by her granddaughter.
Diane was predeceased by her parents Arthur and Dorothy and grandparents Katharine S. Ruettinger and Ernst G. Mueller.
She is survived by her sister, Arlene K. (Koelbel) Bloomer, her first cousin Ned Mueller, her children and their spouses, Deborah and Brooks Clark, Richard and Jennifer Jenkins, and Robert and Clara Jenkins, her granddaughter Rebecca, husband Carmichael and great grandson Gavin, and grandchildren Meagan, Daniel, Tyler, Delaney, Andrew, Amanda, Meredith, and Erica.
