Franchion L. (Whiteman) Beckel, 74, passed away Tuesday, March 1, 2022. She was born in Mansfield, OH, the daughter of the late Kenneth and Leona (Falter) Whiteman.

Franchion grew up in Mansfield, Ohio and lived in Greenville for many years before moving to Johnston in 2013. She was an administrative assistant at the Cavanagh Company for many years before retiring.
She enjoyed bird watching and horses, spending time in her garden tending to her flowers, and playing tennis. She loved watching her granddaughter Kate perform as a dancer and play volleyball, as well as picking up her grandson Dean-Joseph from school, reading him books and teaching him about animals. Fran was a loving, caring, kind woman who had the gift of making everyone feel like family. She will be remembered for her strength and kindness as well as her gracious approach to life.

She was the beloved mother of Donovan L. Beckel and his wife Nicole Trudeau of Wakefield, MA, and Derek L. Beckel and his wife Lori Beckel of Johnston. She was the sister of Edward and Donald Whiteman. She is also survived by her grandchildren Kate Beckel and Dean-Joseph Beckel.

Visiting hours are set for 5 pm-7 pm on Monday, March 7, 2022 at TUCKER-QUINN Funeral Chapel, 643 Putnam Pike, Greenville. Her funeral will be held Tuesday, March 8, 2022 at 9 am, from the TUCKER-QUINN Funeral Chapel with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am in St. Robert Bellarmine Church, Johnston.
Burial will be private.
